Job photos and files, grouped by day
Pick twenty photos at once on your phone, attach any file at all, and find the lot in one feed split by day with a grid of thumbnails. Step through them in a viewer, download one or the whole job as a zip, and get the same on the customer as well as the job.
Notes & Attachments used to be a flat list. A photo showed as a filename on a row, so the only way to see what was on a job was to open every entry one at a time. It is now a feed split by day with the photos in a grid, on the job and on the customer, in the portal and on the phone.
Photos, without the one-at-a-time
- Pick twenty at once. Choose from Library on the phone takes a multi-select, so a morning's worth of site photos goes up in one go with a progress count as they upload.
- Keep shooting. Take Photo asks Take another? after each shot, so a walk-around is one long run rather than reopening the camera every time.
- Nothing changed about permissions. Photos still come through the system picker, so the app never asks for access to your library.
Any file, not just photos and PDFs
There is no file type restriction any more. Compliance certificates, warranty registrations, a spreadsheet of measurements, a supplier's datasheet: all of it belongs on the job.
- On the portal, drag files straight onto the panel or use Attach. Images are compressed in your browser first, everything else uploads untouched.
- On the phone, Choose File opens your phone's file picker. It needs app version 2.2.0 or later.
- Attaching to a message works the same way. The inbox composer and the send screen both take a file off the device, and From Jobs & Quotes on the phone now lists every file on the job rather than only the pictures.
The feed reads like a day book
- A heading per day, newest first, such as Friday 28 August 2026.
- Photos sit together in a grid inside their day. Everything else is a row with a coloured bar and a badge: NOTE, PDF, FILE, plus the JOB CREATED and hold entries the system writes.
- Click a thumbnail for the lightbox. Arrow keys or the chevrons step through every photo on the job, across days, and the strip along the bottom shows where each day starts.
Getting them back out
- One at a time, from the tile, the row or the lightbox.
- A whole day, with Download all on any day heading holding more than one photo.
- The whole job, with Download all photos above the feed. Both give you a zip named after the job with the original filenames inside.
The same on a customer
A customer has its own Notes & Attachments feed built exactly the same way, for the things that outlive one job: a site key photo, a switchboard shot, the strata contact's letter. Anything you send over with Save to Customer from a job carries a link back to the job it came from.
